Join Linsey and the artists of Cotton Mill Studios on Saturday, 9/12, from 10am to 7pm as they commemorate two years since Hurricane Helene swept through WNC. Together with Asheville’s River Arts District, they invite you to reflect on and celebrate their community’s heartache, hope, and enduring spirit through a day filled with studio tours, live demos, music, food, and engaging activities.
To support ongoing recovery efforts, Linsey is raffling one of her original works. Tickets are only available in-person at Linsey’s studio beginning September 5th. Tickets purchased during the September 12th event will receive double entries with the winning ticket drawn at 6pm that day.

Peace in Uncertainty
Inspired by the quiet, often overlooked moments, Linsey draws our attention to overgrown trail banks, heavy fog, and tangled branches that offer shelter and encourage a mindful pace. Each artwork is an invitation to pause, embrace the present, and envision a path forward.
Collaboration & Connection
Working with charcoal and soft pastels on unfinished wood grain introduces an element of unpredictability. Linsey welcomes this challenge throughout her process: Turning gathered twigs into charcoal, taking cues from the wood grain to shape each composition, sealing each piece with a cold wax meticulously by hand, and crafting every frame from hand-selected, locally milled hardwood.

Linsey’s studio embodies the warm, soothing essence of her work. Entering invites a calm, immersive pause that encourages visitors to slow their pace and stay awhile, providing a quiet, intentional space to explore both completed pieces and works in progress.
