BRAND DESIGN

There is a difference between a business and a brand. A business is the functioning entity, and a brand is the story, personality and mission behind it. As a first impression, a brand often (and quickly) becomes the overall reputation of a company or organization. It's what pushes your business into industry spotlight and creates strong, lasting connections with target audiences.

While there is much more to building a brand than a set of logos, a visual identity system is an important asset. Like a house, a successful brand relies on a sturdy framework: naming, positioning, tone of voice, etc. And reflective of that framework is its visual representation: logo marks, color palette(s), font system, patterns/textures, illustration, photography style, collateral -- similar to the way material and furnishing selections reflect our personalities and way of living.

This visual identity introduces a brand to its marketplace, sets expectations with consumers and competitors, and ensures your products and/or services remain relevant over time.

Because of this, the thought of sending you on your way with just a logo makes me cringe. Instead, with this service, you'll walk away with a strategically designed visual identity system that allows you to meet your business' goals and feel confident in setting new ones.

WEB DESIGN COMPS

Web Design Comps (short for comprehensives) are detailed mockups of a website in progress. They serve as a preview for clients and a roadmap for web developers. Commonly used prior to actually coding a website, this set of “Site Plans” ensures a clear understanding of how the site should look.

Having Web Design Comps created for your new or redesigned website can better streamline a web design project and ensure maximum efficiency by finalizing the layout, sizing, spacing and overall aesthetics of the site before hard coding begins. This reduces, if not eliminates, the need for back and forth revisions by the developer, avoiding the need for any difficult, time consuming adjustments and the additional costs associated with them. Included with this service is a Design System Manual that outlines specifications for all design elements and user interface (UI) components for the developer.

I also provide continued art direction throughout the web development process, acting as the creative liaison between you and your developer.
You can hand these over to your web developer of choice, or I’m happy to refer you to one. Just know that I am only responsible for establishing the visual organization and appearance of the site, not the end product. For that reason, this service will always be billed as a separate transaction from your developer.

ENVIRONMENTAL

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Environmental design (sometimes referred to as experiential design) merges graphic design, architecture, interior design, landscape design and industrial design to create something much more than a setting: a location. It has the ability to make the space more informative, easier to navigate, and more memorable for its visitors.

Thanks my education in interior architecture combined with my professional experience in graphic design, I not only have a good understanding of design elements like visual hierarchy and color, but I’m also able to comprehend industrial design proposals and read architectural blueprints effectively. These projects often involve creating 2D / 3D drawings and models that are shared between all involved parties such as interior designers, architects, engineers, fabricators, landscape architects, and clients.

Throughout all Environmental Graphic Design projects, I regularly communicate and collaborate with all involved parties from initial concept to final on-site install.

Given the nature of this type of service, each project is completely different from the next, and will require adequate information before a quote or estimated timeline can be provided.

EDITORIAL DESIGN

Editorial design has a big impact on how written information is understood. As an editorial designer, I have many things to think about, from typography to layouts to graphics and illustrations.

The goal of editorial design is to make publications attractive, visually interesting, easy to read and on-brand with the title. Good editorial design is cohesive, clear, and draws readers in.

I have years of experience working closely with editors, sales and advertising staff, publishers and production teams — both in-person and remotely. From focusing on just the cover art to building all editorial pages, I combine technical and artful skill to bring any digital or print publication to life while staying within budget and meeting strict deadlines.
